The Clockwork Princess Review and Mega News! - As Always, Contains Spoilers!

Hey Wormies! This week I finished the last book to the Infernal Devices trilogy. I can't tell you guys
how amazing this ending was! Its super bittersweet though. Its hard to think that Tessa, Jem, and Will's story has come to a close.

I thought the book was very well written. I only found one typo which makes me happy. Its like a HUGE pet peeve of mine to find spelling and grammar errors in published books. Not only does it trip me up while reading, but I think its somewhat unprofessional. Nevertheless I still Love Love Love Cassie.(I'm talking about her like she's my best friend:) )

I have loved this series soo much. I just think that the way Cassie chose to write this series was brilliant. I loved the setting, and the historical-ness (I just made that a word BTW). It was such an easy and believable backdrop for these amazing characters.

As much as I loved Jem through out the books, I secretly pined for Will and Tessa. I just think that Will is such an interesting character to read. He's got so many layers of personality to him. We really get to see him grow and understand him along the way.

With that being said, I really loved the way she tied up all the relationships in this novel.

I will say though, I'm still a little fuzzy on the whole Jem becoming an Silent Brother, then turning human again. . . So if someone will clear that up for me that'd be great. And Cassie, if you're reading this, just know, I totally love how the book ends!

Ok, so now for the "Mega News" I was talking about in the post title. I have a friend who is an upcoming debut author for YA Thrillers. She is soo amazing guys I can't even tell you. She had a chance to meet Cassie in Anaheim and got a book signed by her. She knew I was a HUGE fan. . .sooo . . . SHE GAVE ME THE BOOK! Yes, I kid you not, I am now the extremely proud and ecstatic owner of a Collector's First Edition Clockwork Princess signed by miss Cassandra Clare. I have literally been hyperventilating and holding it and staring at it since Thursday. I just can't get over its awesomeness. AHH!

Anyways if you guys haven't read this series, or the Mortal Instruments series, I suggest you pick up some copies!

The Host Review (CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Hey Wormies! So, today, my best friend and I went to see The Host. I must say that I was so incredibly skeptical about going to see this movie. I was afraid it was going to be another Tw
ilight mishap. But now that Stephenie is the executive producer, the movie came out much better than I had thought it would. However, even though I did like the movie as a whole, there were a few things that I felt a little iffy about.

Let me start out by saying that during the credits I got to see the City of Bones trailer. That movie definitely makes me nervous. I think that from a first glance, the characters look alllllllll wrong. But because I am a true fan, and really respect Cassandra Clare, I am going to give it a chance, show my support and go see the movie.

Ok now onto The Host. Let's see where do I want to start? Well how about at the opening credits? I absolutely loved the opening. The whole Earth thing with the title across it. Loved it. The Morgan Freeman type voice giving the history? Loved it. It was really cool.

However, now it's time for some negative. I felt that the movie sort of dragged. My best friend has never read the book and she was getting a little bored. The beginning was fast paced, but after the point where Melony gets captured and implanted with Wanda things got a little slow.

Now for some positive. I thought the actors they picked were really good. I loveddd Jared and Kyle. Jeb was PERFECT. He was soo funny. Maggie was more hostile than I remember her being in the book. But it worked nicely. Melony/Wanda looked a little young to me, but she was ok. I didn't dislike her, but I didn't LOVE LOVE LOVE her either. That make sense?

Speaking of Wanda/Melony. I know this is going to sound really picky but I didn't like the whole voice in her head bit. It just sounded really cheese and echoy and unrealistic.  I know that we never get what we picture in our minds as we read, but I thought it was a little over done, like Edwards sparkling skin in Twilight.

Is it wrong that I'm making Twilight references? I'm not trying to compare them, but those are the examples that pop into my mind as I type this.

I think that is all my beefs. Over all, I really liked it. My friend even thought it was a cute movie. I will say that they stuck pretty true to the book. They got all the important plot points in. I did miss the part where Wes, the old ill man, dies and they have to bury him. Wes in the movie was a young kid who gets taken out by the seeker. Oh ya! And I may be wrong, but I don't remember the seeker finding the rebel hide-out in the book. If I'm wrong, someone let me know. Its been a while since I read the book.

So ya. That's about all I got to say. I really like the credit song. It was perfect I think. And the ending was great. It was different than I remember it in the book, but It was still good.

I think they did a great job. Now, I really hope Stephenie Meyers gets around to writing a sequel. I would reallly APPRECIATE IT! Steph, if you're reading this, please please please please. WRITE A SEQUEL!!

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

This is the latest book I have read. It was ok. I really liked the idea behind the book, but I felt it was slow in some departments. It was good enough that I will read the rest of the books though. So look into it if this interests you!

It's Been A While

Hey everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's were amazing. Mine were all pretty bittersweet. I haven't had anytime to update this site in a long time. Senior year has been pretty crazy for me and a lot has happened. It is now February and I have some new things to tell you all so here it goes:

1) I started the new year's reading list on January 7, 2013 and I plan to read until that day in 2014. I will hopefully be finding some time to update the current reading page for last year and put up the new one for this year. I didn't get as many read as I had originally hoped. Like I said, my classes, school activities, family stuff, and church have kept just about all of my time these last few months.

2) I have not written anything new on the High School Romance page. I still have a writer's block. Some authors don't even believe that exists. They think you just haven't been inspired. Maybe that's true. Either way, Sam and Grace's story has not progressed. I think I am going to put it away for now. Let it rest and then come back to it. However, I have been working on some new stuff in my Creative Writing Class. I have started playing around with a cop drama that I am pretty excited about.

3) I am still going to continue the Nicholas Sparks challenge. That like everything else has taken a back seat to me hectic life. I have however started reading the Notebook and I have to say, its good, but the movie version may be better. . .I am so excited about Safe Haven coming out. For those who don't know, it comes out in the US on Feb. 14 and it looks amazing.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (SPOILERS)

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a great Thanksgiving week, that is if you live in or are from the U.S. I currently have my entire family staying with me, so my house is incredibly noisy. My Aunt and I went to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 today and I have to say, 5 hours later, my heart still isn't the same. I won't spoil the ending because you have to experience if for yourself but I will say this, IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!! (I really will try not to spoil too much, but be advised, there may be things you don't want to read about. . .if you're one of those fans)

I could not believe the things that were happening. My Aunt and I were just staring at the screen in total shock. I liked how they chose to start the film. However I will say that the song choice for me was strange, as it was several other times in the movie. I didn't always feel that the music matched the seriousness of the tone, or the funny moments between family members. In that department,  I thought it was lacking. I did love all the music, don't get me wrong, I just didn't love the placement. I have to say I loved the Thousand Years remake. You will understand when I say, it totally made the scene 100xs stronger. It was beautiful. It happens to be one of those scenes that only fans of the books would really fully understand.

At first I thought the movie was flying by. I was shocked at how fast the plot was moving along. Then I realized that the movie seemed fast because it was only covering half of the book. When I really thought about it, it really wasn't that off. The credits were really good. They went through all the actors from all of the past books and listed their name and character. It was a nice tribute and I felt that it fit well.

Let's talk Baby Renesmee. Baby Renesmee was so adorable, but she would have been better if she weren't so obviously not real. I get that they only had so much that they could do to make it seem real enough, but it kind of bothered me for some reason. And it wasn't just Renesmee as a baby either. Before the child actress came in, she seemed a little, I don't know, dream like, if that makes sense. She seemed like she wasn't really there. I tried to over look it. If that's all I have to complain about, then the movie was pretty amazing. It by far was the best movie in the series. I was really thrilled by how it turned out. I was so scared that they were going to have to change things to make it more appealing to those who hadn't read the book. I can't say more on that without spoiling the movie completely.

I am really sad that the fandom is over. I have had some good times with these books. I can't wait to see what Stephenie has for us next. But I will say, that whatever it is, please don't compare it to Twilight. Nothing she will ever write will be in the same category as Twilight. She may branch out and write murder mysteries like J. K. Rowling. But that doesn't mean that that murder mystery is anything like Harry Potter. Does that make sense? Give her future work a chance, like I know some of you did for The Host. She deserves that. I really am expecting her to start working on something new if she hasn't already, now that the movies are all over with. I'm so excited!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Is Here!!!

Hey guys!! Breaking Dawn Part 2 is finally hitting theaters! Friday night is the midnight premiere. I did that for Twilight, and I don't think I'll do it again. Its just too loud and you can't focus on the movie. So I prefer to wait a few days. This year I am taking my aunt, who is visiting for the holidays, to see it. The DVD probably won't hit stores for Christmas, but I still don't have Part 1, so that's on my list. You will all have to leave me comments so I know whether its good or not. However, I think that the ending is probably not accurate. The trailers show a fight scene at the end between the Volturi and the Cullens, which fans know, didn't actually happen. But I am still going to go with an open mind. They have to make it exciting for marketing and box office purposes so I will think of it as an alternate ending. Anyways those of  you going to the midnight showing, have fun! And comment below!

Hey all! I have seriously been really bad at posting since school started this year. But today I have some down time, (I'm currently on my T.A. period. . .doing nothing) So I thought I would post. I am still reading Defending Jacob for my AP Lit class, and I have started my next book group book which is, Red Rain by R. L. Stine. We decided to start something scary due to the fact that it was around Halloween when we last met. I am only about 100 pages in (or so) and its really not bad. It definitely has a creeptastic vibe to it so if that's what you're looking for check it out! Here's the synopsis:

I am currently reading this book for my AP Lit class. I apsolutley love it so far! I am very interested in the court house scene. I love cop dramas such as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, CSI: Miami, and things like that. If you are into those types of shows, this is something you might be interested in.

Sorry Its Been Awhile. . .Grave Mercy Review

Hey guys! Sorry its been so long but as I am currently a Senior in High School, my life has been extremely hectic. I rarely have time to read let alone post about it. However, I did recently read Grace Mercy by Robin Lafevers. I really liked it however, at times it was slow. If you like the medieval scene, this book is for you. I am one of those people. I love the courts and castles, the the threat of invading countries, and the betrayal of those who are known to be your allies. The romance aspect to this novel is extremely slow due to the fact that the protagonist is loyal to her convent and her God. She never wanted love nor did she expect to find it. This book has so many different things going on. To me it could even be classified as a mystery if you will. If this sounds interesting to you, look into it, read it, and comment and let me know what you thought! Hopefully I can find more time to post since I have a computer class everyday. Hey y'all!! I just found this book series of accident while searching for another post! These look interesting if you are into disease and plague.They sound similar to books such as Ashes, Ashes or The Eleventh Plague or even Enclave and the Partials.

Bitterblue by Kristen Cashore

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all have an amazing 4th of July, I know I did! So this past week or so, along with my homework, I have been reading the latest from Kristen Cashore. It's called Bitterblue and of course it is after both Fire and Graceling. Those of you familiar with the series, you know that Cashore did things a little backwards. She wrote Graceling first. Then wrote Fire, but Fire takes place 40 or 50 years before Graceling. And now she has written Bitterblue which is 8 years after Graceling. Confusing, I know. Anyways I am in love with this book so far!

Some Things To Discuss

Hey guys! I haven't posted in a while, and I have a few things to share. I hope everyone is have a fabulous summer so far, I know I am. During the next few days, I will be adding some new things to the site. I should have done some of these things earlier. So here is what I plan on doing this summer concerning this blog and all of you! :

One of the things I will be doing, is my summer reading homework for school. I am currently entering my Senior year and since I am in advanced placement classes (AP English) I have to read a few things this summer and complete assignments. Those of you that have been with me for a while, know that I have had to do this for the past three summers. So of course I will be posting those books to the home page as I get to them. This being said, I will have a little less time to complete some of the things I have planned for this site, but I will try my best to keep you guys posted.

Next, I want to tell you all about a free e-book sharing site my teachers told me about. It is called Tuebl.com . It will come up if you Google it. Basically, you search the books and authors you want to find, and you can download it to your computer. Then you can sync it to anything like iPad, iPod, Nook, Kindle. Anything like that. However, I have found that 1, they sometimes have different book covers, and 2 if you have a nook like me, you have to put the books into your documents folder. It also, for me, may appear in a funky formatting when you open it. But its free, so don't be picky! I have downloaded like 100 books from this site and I love it!

I should have done this a long time ago, like in January. You all know that I am currently challenging myself to read as many books as I can before January 1, 2013 and I challenged all of you to do it too. Well, I am going to make a page and list my progress. I will post the name, author, picture, and I think I may rate it. I'm not sure about that last part yet. But I will put something there to show whether its worth reading or not. I will probably call the page January-January Reading Challenge.

This summer I also plan on furthering the High School Romance plot when I have some down time. I am really sorry for not writing anything sooner but I've been experiencing some writer's block lately. I have some plot points, but my problem was building up to those events. If anyone has any suggestions on how to further the story, or even just some criticism, I would much appreciate it!!!

On top of all those things, I have to complete a bucket-list my best friend and I have been putting together. I also am currently looking for a part time job in the town where I live. So it goes without saying that this summer, I will be extremely busy. I still have to squeeze some time in there somewhere for my friends and family, so they don't think I have totally forgotten them.

I want you all to know that I haven't given up on the Nicholas Sparks read-a-thon. I have just put it on hold for the moment as I'm sure you can all understand. I think I now own them all though so I will be fitting them into my summer reading load. Which by the way, I am currently looking at a large stack, and an even bigger list. I have been tasked to find some new reads for my bookgroup.

This is my last real summer before reality kicks in. I really hope to make the most of it and share it with all of you. I want you to know that I check in on my stats page regularly. I want to thank all of you that log on to this blog every week. I really appreciate it and I wish I could update it more. You all deserve that. Thank you for all the support and messages. They make me smile. I want to acknowledge those of you who visit me here because some of you live in places that I've never even heard of. And that rocks.

Busy Bee!

Hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything new in a while, but I have been extremely busy! J. K. Rowling New Book? Say What?!

Hey everyone! Today, J. K. Rowling, Author of the famous Harry Potter series, has released a statement about her future book! "The Casual Vacancy" is set to be released on September 27, 2012 in e-book, Audio, and traditional hardback. This new book is set in a little English town. It is an adult novel and she says she is very excited to see how it will be perceived. I know I will be reading this book. I can't wait to see what she will come up with this time.
