Breaking Dawn Count-Down

Hey everyone! Breaking Dawn is just around the corner. As of today there is only 17 days until the premiere. Fans, make sure you catch the WHOLE cast on the Ellen DeGeneres show next week. Has everyone seen the trailer? I kind of feel like the new PG-13 should be the R. The Trailer has some graphic scenes. . .but then so does the book. I'm really excited for the movie and plan on seeing it several times. I will post a review after!

#11 On Summer Reading List

Hey everyone! Yesterday I finished that Nightshade book by Andrea Cremer. It was number 11 on the list. I didn't realize when I started it that it was a series. . . so beware that this book does leave off with a cliff hanger. The good news is that the first two books are out. The conclusion is to hit shelves in January. The second book is called Wolfsbane.

So this book started out with some confusing concepts. But as you continue to read, things begin to unfold and you start to understand that world that Calla has been born into. There is a pretty intense love triangle. I personally am Team Ren, the werewolf she has been betrothed too. Calla has to make a decision between her pack, and her destined future with Ren, and a life of freedom with Shay, a human she should have never met, so saved. This book is pretty relaxed. There are some intense parts but its a pretty easy read. I would recommend it. The last book is set to come out in January.

Reading List # 9 Divergent by Veronica Roth

Hey readers! Just last night I finished the book Divergent by Veronica Roth. I have to say those of you that love the Hunger Games, you will LOVE this book. I cannot believe how amazing this is. This book is about a future America. Instead of districts, like the hunger games, the people are split into Factions. They are split based on their personality. When a child is 16, they take a test which tells them which Faction they would fit best with. But when a young girl fits into none, She has to lie to protect herself from those who would kill her. She meets a young man roughly 2 years older than herself. She learns many things she never knew about herself, her family, her new friends, and people in general. This is on of my favorite books. I know all of you will enjoy it. Look for the second book in May. Its called Insurgent.

Right now I am reading a book called Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. It is number 11 on the list. Its pretty good so far. Those of you that like mystical creatures books, especially werewolves, you would probably like this.

I Skipped Around :/

So these last few weeks, I kind of decided to skip a few of the books on my list because I couldn't get my hands on a copy, and I read those books that I already had or I could get my hands on. The first one that I read is called The Help by Katherine Stockett. And I have to say. . .W O W. It is one of the most amazing books I have yet to read. The relationships she describes between the white community and their black help is unique and well written. The everyday things that the black community had to deal with were written in such detail and grace. It really shows you what it was like to live during that time frame. The persecution they faced was unreal, and you get a sense of their fear while you read the words on these pages. The personalities of her characters were so loveable I thought I was being told the story personally. The people, the places, the events seem to jump off the page and unfold deep within your mind. And I don't just say that because Ms. Stockett's amazing story has recently hit the big screen. It is an incredible story of life, love, fear, racial prejudices, hardships, happiness, and bonds stronger than a million steal cables. I cannot stress enough that you read this novel. I promise that the words comming out of the characters mouths, such as Aibileen and Minny, will make you feel like you are apart of the story. Their dialect is spot on and it just completes the plot line further. I cannot praise Katherine Stockett enough for her work. I loved every second she allowed me to enter the world of her creation.

The second book I read is on the list. It is number 25 and it is called Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. I haven't finished it yet, but many of my book loving friends told me I had to read it and it was one of their favorite Sparks novels. And so far I have to agree with them. This novel is about a women who has run away from her abusive husband. She winds up living in a small city that is so off the map, she would never be found by her detective husband. She meets Alex, and small store owner and a father of two young kids. The character's pasts will touch you in ways you can't imagine. You really feel for them and their pains. I am about half way through and the drama is only starting to begin. I love how Sparks set the foundation for this novel, with the plot and the relationships within. As I read through the chapters I can feel the tension rising and the ending is sure to be chin-dropping. It is truly amazing thus far.

I hope these suggestions can be of help to those in need of new reads.

#5 On My Summer Reading List

Hey everyone. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post. I have been dealing with some personal things and haven't had time to sit down and post anything. The next book on my list was called Night Star by Alyson Noel. It is the fifth book in the Immortals series. I have to admit I finished this book a while ago.

It was a great book with some interesting plot points. I was disappointed though, that the major problem in Ever and Damen's lives had yet to be resolved. I sort of felt like I was being strung along waiting for something major to happen. There were some minor conflicts, everyday girlfriend boyfriend things. It wasn't all that interesting to me, but I have yet to purchase the last installment. I realize this may be a harsh opinion, but to be honest, I hated New Moon, but loved the rest of the Twilight series. So this is nothing against the series as a whole. Just this particular book. I think Alyson Noel is a brilliant author and she has a lot of great ideas that she has made come alive in her previous books. I guess I was just looking for a little more action is all.

# 3 & 4 On My Summer Reading List

Ok so the third and fourth books on my list were for my honors English class in school. I had to read them this summer and do all kinds of papers on them. If you like historical fiction these are two pretty good reads. I do like historical fiction, so I enjoyed them very much. But I have to say, that I liked the Crucible by Arthur Miller a lot more.

The Crucible: The Crucible is a play written about true events that took place in Salem Massachusetts during the 16 hundreds. Its about a small village of people who lived in peace until a young girl cried Witch. From there on, if someone had a grudge against you, you would most likely be charged with witchcraft and hanged. It is a great story, and I enjoyed reading it a lot.

The Chosen: The Chosen is about two Jewish boys. They go to different Jewish synagogues and have slightly different beliefs. They hate each other until on afternoon during a ball game. They become friends soon after and this is the story of their lives, religions, and histories. This story takes place during the second world war. I liked it, but for me it was sort of a longer read.

Both of these novels are great. Check them out!

# 1 & 2 On My Reading List

So the first book on my summer reading list was Spells by Aprilynne Pike. Since I read them back to back, and on the same night I may add, I decided to combine their posts. The Wings series is an incredible series about a normal human girl who realizes that she has been sent on a journey and doesn't remember her previous life as a Faerie. She was placed in the care of two humans as an infant. Her job was to obtain the land that her former home resides on. Her task is sent spiraling out of control when she is attacked by trolls and refuses to leave her human life. She falls in love with a human boy named David not knowing that she was already in love with a Faerie boy named Tam. When she and Tam are reunited old sparks ignite. I finished reading spells and I immediately had to read the next installment, Illusions. This book is a mix of drama, love, action, and mystery. When a new faerie enters the picture, everyone has questions. It leaves of with a complete cliff hanger, and I can't wait for the next one to hit shelves.
Please read these if you like the love triangle, mixed with mystery, action, and a great story line. Mystical creatures are just an added bonus.

Sad to Report

Dark Mirror by M. J. Putney

This book is on the reading list.
"This historical romance/fantasy novel toggles back and forth in time between the early 1800s and the beginning of WWII. Except for a few plot holes here and there, this novel is satisfyingly constructed. The romance and fantasy are nicely balanced, without one overpowering the other. Unlike many adult novels in this genre, the romance is limited to passionate embraces, which makes it appropriate for younger teen readers. The characters and plot are fairly stock but comfortably predictable, with just enough surprise to keep the reader interested. All in all, this is a solid debut YA novel for Putney and it will appeal to teen fans of both romance and fantasy."

One of my good book group friends is reading this book right now and she said its amazing. She reccomends it to everyone!

Update

Hey everyone! I have finished revising and editing A High School Romance, so it is safe to reread. I will be continuing Sam and Grace's journey over my time off this summer.

Also this summer, I have challenged myself to read as many new books as I can starting June 1st. So keep a look out for my official summer reading list coming soon! Just To Say Hey!!

First Happy Mother's day!

Second, I have been doing a lot of updating on the site. I have rewritten a LOT on a High School Romance. So make sure you check back up and re-read from the beginning. I have added a lot more details on some parts. PLEASE comment; If you have a question, or just because. ANY feedback helps me a lot!

Third, I have completely re-done the character picture page and the next couple of polls will be based on them. PLEASE vote so I know how I did with the pics!

Updates!

Hey Guys! Happy spring break and happy Easter! I recently finished reading the new installment to the Mortal Instruments series and I have to say it was amazing! The last book left so many things open and the author took the series in a whole new direction. There were many scenes that were action packed and there are new romances forming. And of course the book has left off in a major cliff hanger! There have been many speculations as to what is to come. Cross your fingers that the next books release date, which is set for May 2012, is pushed up.

Also being released this year is Clockwork Prince, the second book in the Mortal Instruments spin off series. The first one is amazing as well and a few of the characters are referenced in the City of Fallen Angels so I highly recommend reading it. (September 2011)

This past week the Twilight Saga Official Guide was released. It is about the size of Breaking Dawn but is totally STUFFED with information, pics, back stories, and more.
